How to Add Contact Form 7 to WordPress

Contact Form 7 is a popular WordPress plugin that adds a contact form to your site. Through that form, your visitors can contact you directly from your site. You need to create and set up a contact form before you can add it to a page.

Set up Contact Form 7 in WordPress

  1. Sign in to WordPress.
  2. Install and activate the Contact Form 7 plugin.
  3. On the left-side menu, select Contact > Add New to create a new contact form. 

    Note: If you want to edit an existing contact form, select Contact > Contact Forms, and then select the contact form you wish to edit (select the title, not the checkbox).

  4. In the Enter title here field, enter the title of the new contact form.
  5. Select the Mail tab and update the following:
    • In the To field, replace the placeholder text with the email address to which you want to receive messages.
    • (Optional) Update other fields.

      Note: If the address in the From field does not match the domain on the hosting account, the server will prevent the mail from being received.

  6. (Optional) Select the Form and Messaging tabs to make desired changes.
  7. Select Save.

Add Contact Form 7 to a WordPress page

You must create and set up a contact form before you can add it to your page.

  1. Sign in to WordPress.
  2. On the left-side menu, select Pages, and then select a page you want to edit (select the title, not the checkbox).
  3. Select the place on the page where you want to add the contact form.
  4. At the top-left corner, select Plus icon in WordPress.
  5. On the left menu, scroll down and select Contact Form 7 to add a new block with the contact form.
  6. Under Select a contact form, select the dropdown menu to find and select the contact form you want to use.
  7. (Optional) Select Preview, select the device and then select Preview in new tab to see how the contact form looks on your page.
  8. At the top-right corner, select Update.

You can now receive email through your contact form.
